Sharon L. (Moody) True

AUGUSTA – Sharon L. (Moody) True, 71, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at home. She was the wife of the late Roland E. True. Sharon was born August 6, 1949 in Augusta, daughter of the late Forrest and Mary (Flagg) Moody. She grew up in Wayne and attended Winthrop High School.

Sharon was the owner and operator of Trueā€™s Country Store for many years. She previously worked as a Bank Currier for Key Bank.

She loved animals and she had horses, dogs and many cats. She also enjoyed growing flowers, shopping, and mowing her lawn. She cared deeply for her family and friends. Along with stray animals, her door was always open and a place at the table for the stray children and friends as well. Sharon was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts Troop 601 in Augusta, a 4H leader of Four Hills 4 H Club, she was also involved with Girl Scouts, Softball, Baseball, the Kennebec Riding Club, and any other activities her children were involved in. Sharon was the ā€œTaxiā€ driver for all the neighborhood kids. In the later years, her true love and devotion was watching her grandchildren grow up.

Sharon is survived by her daughter Wendy L. Boyles and her husband Scott of Augusta; her sister Della Gray and Douglas of Lewiston; her two grandchildren Scott Bayles, Jr. and Crystal Bayles and her fiancƩ Ryan Francis of Augusta. She is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren Isadora Francis and Finnley Francis; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Roland, Sharon was predeceased by her son Roland E. True, Jr., and her brothers Timothy and Dwight Moody.

Sharonā€™s visiting hours will be in the Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St. Augusta on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 9 a.m.to 11 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Manchester Forks Cemetery, Manchester. Following the guidelines set forth by the State of Maine and the CDC face masks and social distancing will be required.
