MONMOUTH – Elaine L. Folsom, 84, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at her home in Monmouth. Elaine was born in Gardiner on July 18, 1936, the daughter of Carold H. Lanpher and Edna (Partridge) Lanpher. She attended South China schools and graduated from Erskine Academy.
Elaine worked for the State of Maine with the Motor Vehicle Division for 27 years. On April 30, 1966 in China, she married Laurence O. Folsom from Monmouth. She enjoyed being a member of the Monmouth Fire Department Auxiliary and the Cochnewagon Trailblazers Snowmobile Club. Elaine was also a life time member of the Lily of the Valley OES in Weeks Mills.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Laurence O. Folsom of Monmouth; two sons, Laurence Owen Folsom II and wife Melissa of Wrentham, Mass. and Carold L. “CL” Folsom and wife Juli of Salem, Maine; and two grandchildren, Emma and Jacob. She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Carold “Robie” Lanpher, and a sister, Geraldine Nelson Hunter.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 1 p.m.. at BRAGDON-FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 707 Main Street, Monmouth, Maine. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service. Her burial will be in the Maine Veterans Niche, Augusta, Maine.
