Ruby A. Tarbox

RICHMOND – Ruby A. Tarbox, 84, of the Brown Road, died on April 21, 2021 at the home of her good friend, after a long illness. She was born on July 31, 1936 in Farmingdale, the daughter of Henry and Carrie (Cressey) Jellison.

Ruby married Gilbert Tarbox in 1952. She was predeceased by her husband; and sons Gilbert “Bitsy” Tarbox and David Tarbox; brothers Winfield, Maurice and Kenneth Millett, Floyd, George, Jessie, Herman and William Jellison. Ruby is survived by her son Dean Tarbox; granddaughters Lindsay Tarbox, Allison Tarbox and companion Josh Wilkinson, Amanda Asfahl and husband Justin; great-grandchildren Dustin, Avery, Brody, Griffin; a daughter-in-law, sisters in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby worked at Common Wealth Shoe, Etonic Shoe, Yankee Candle and IGA.

She loved her family and many life long friends. Ruby was totally committed to the Richmond community where she lived over 70 years. Ruby enjoyed square dancing, camping, reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and especially cooking her peanut butter fudge.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, May 15 at 2 p.m. at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Dresden.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to her dear friend Connie Smith with whom she lived for the last 14 months of her life.
