William “Bill” B. Pierce Sr.

MOSCOW – William “Bill” B. Pierce Sr. passed away April 26, 2021, at his home, with family by his side, after a lengthy illness. Bill was born July 23, 1936, in Moscow, son of the late Guy and Christine Pierce. He was raised in the Moscow area where he lived his entire life. He attended schools in Bingham. Early on Bill worked in the woods for Quimby Mill in Bingham. He then went on to work for Maine DOT, completing a 35 year career there. In May of 1957 he married the love of his life, Mary Mildred Lagasse. Together they raised five children. He is survived by his wife of 64 years and his children; William Pierce Jr. and wife Maddy, Karen and husband Kurtis Enos, Micheal Pierce, Mark Pierce and wife Babette, Kathryn Pierce and partner Terry Franzose. He had six grandchildren, Christopher Cates, Eric Pierce, Christine Parent, Roy Pierce, Mark Pierce Jr., and Candace Payton. He had 13 great-grandchildren.He was predeceased by his parents and siblings; Lorraine Kennedy, Gertrude Goodrich, Jane Keaten, Donna James, and Margaret Batchelder. Visiting hours will be: Friday April 30, 4-7 p.m., at Giberson Funeral Home, at 18 River Street in Bingham.Funeral services will be: Saturday May 1, 10 a.m., at St. Peters Church in Bingham.The family would like to send a very special thank you to Maine General Hospice for their outstanding care, comfort, and help this past year.
