OWLS HEAD — Rockland detectives and officers with the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit located a body in a pond in a field in Owls Head on Thursday.
The pond is several hundred yards from Route 73 across from the entrance to the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Police found the body around 3 p.m.

Identification is expected after the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office completes an examination and an autopsy.
This is the same area where the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Rockland Fire and Emergency Medical Services, the Owls Head Fire Department and the South Thomaston Fire Department searched for 33-year-old Tyler Gricus on April 22.
It is where one of the last pings from his cellphone was detected.
Gricus was last seen in Rockland on April 9. He was living on a boat on Mechanic Street.
Family and friends reported him missing April 12.
