A woman from Augusta won big Wednesday evening on the popular television game show “Jeopardy!”

Jamie Carter Logan, a writer consultant who graduated from Deering High School in Portland in 2005, defeated reigning champion Hannah Howard, an editor from New York City, and Elliott Goodman, a history/Latin teacher from Culver City, California, by correctly answering the Final Jeopardy question: “The title of this huge hit 1977 album was the idea of the bass player, who stressed it should be spelled the British way.”

Logan’s correct answer – What is “Rumours” by Fleetwood Mac – saw her take home $32,200. Goodman answered the question correctly, but only wagered $928, which left him with a total of $17,728. Howard was unable to answer the question. Logan, who went into the final round with $16,200, wagered $16,000.

“Watching the show for 34 years. Writing a letter to Alex Trebek when I was about 8. Taking the online test every time I’ve been eligible over the last 15 years. Five auditions: two of which were for college Jeopardy! This year, lifelong goal achieved,” Logan wrote on her Facebook page.

Wednesday’s show was hosted by Bill Whitaker, a correspondent for “60 Minutes.” Whitaker is just one of several celebrities to host the show since the death in November of long-time host Alex Trebek. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently hosted, and last week’s host was CNN’s Anderson Cooper.
