Thomas “Thom” D. Levesque

WATERVILLE – With great sadness we announce the passing of Thomas “Thom” D. Levesque on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Lakewood Nursing Home in Waterville after a lengthy illness.

Born May 11, 1950 in Caribou to Romeo J. Levesque Sr. and Mary E. (Theriault) Levesque.

Thom never married or had children and is predeceased by both his parents Romeo J. Levesque Sr. and Mary E. (Theriault) Levesque; and siblings Romeo J. Levesque Jr. (Arizona), James L. Levesque (Illinois) and Patricia M. Levesque (Maine).

Surviving family members include brothers and sisters, Philip D. Levesque (Idaho), Phyllis A. (Levesque) Caron (Texas), Delores M. (Levesque) Flake (North Carolina), Gregory B. Levesque (Florida); nieces and nephews, Misty Fowler, James D. Caron, Sean and Luke Levesque.

The Levesque family moved to Pittsfield from Connor, in 1957. Thomas was a graduate of Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield and Northern Maine Technical College in Presque Isle. He also completed three real estate courses at the University of Maine at Augusta and the Life Underwriter’s Training Council (LUTC) course with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He held three Maine State Insurance licenses in life, health and casualty. He was also a Notary Public from 1981 to 2009.

Thom was employed as a project manager at Ganneston Construction Co., Inc. in Augusta, William S. Williams Construction Co., Inc. in Gardiner and Harold Warren Construction Co., Inc. in Chelsea. Thom’s first employment experience, after technical college, was with the Maine State Highway Commission in Augusta (now M.D.O.T), Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (Waterville) and A.E. Hodson, Consulting Engineers (Waterville). He was self-employed for a brief period, dba: “Levesque Construction Management.” Thom became disabled in November 2001, as a result of multiple sclerosis, and battled with complications of said disease until his death. From September 1998-2017 he resided at his home in Oakland. In the last 3½ years he resided at Lakewood Nursing Home.

In honoring with Thom’s wishes there will be no visiting hours. There will be a funeral Mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church, in Pittsfield on Monday, May 10 at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at the Pittsfield Village Cemetery.
