SKOWHEGAN – Brian S. Pomerleau Sr. , 81, passed away surrounded by his family on May 6, 2021, at Redington Fairview hospital. Brian was born in Skowhegan on April 28, 1940, the son of Alphonce and Ethel (Smith) Pomerleau.

Brian spent his life growing up in Skowhegan. Upon his completion of high school, he went to work at Dexter shoe and eventually retiring from shoe making.

On Oct. 19, 1963, Brian married the love of his life, Nancy Hooper of Bingham. Together they spent 44 years together until Nancy’s passing in 2008.

Family was important to Brian, he always looked forward to family holidays and BBQ’s. In his early years, he enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. As time went on, he appreciated spending his time sitting in his garage on nice days, watching people go about their days, not to mention spending time at the fair when it was in town.

Brian is survived by his daughters, Lisa Miller and her significant other Steve and Sheila Gunther, both of Skowhegan, sons, Brian Pmerleau Jr. and Wife Candi of Solon and Danny Pomerleau and wife Tammy of Waterville; his grandchildren, Mathew, Ryan, Clarissa, Joyce, Maria, Anna, Carolyne, Daryl, Chelsea, Mitchell, Amber, Racean, Marysa and Callie; great-grandchildren, Mason, Brody Paisley, Margaret, Lincoln, Autumn, Cale, Andrew, Anthony, Emily, Justin, Wyott, Mackenzie, Daniel, Jaslyn and Sophie; brother, David and his wife Betty Pomerleau of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to Nancy, Brian was predeceased by his son in-law, Larry Gunther; grandchildren, Daniel Pomerleau Jr., Joshua and Josephua; great-grandson, Joseph; and his sisters, Donna and Pat.

A graveside service for Brian will be conducted at Bingham Village cemetery at the family’s convenience in June.
