Thank you for your article about the park (“Tucked amid offices in a commercial area of Augusta, the Garden Club Park is getting cleaned up,” May 7). I am so happy to know that it gets the love and care it deserves.

The designer was the legendary Maine horticulturist Lyle Littlefield, a professor at University of Maine. Marilyn Mollicone planted the waterlilies by attaching a brick to the roots, Ruth King donated the primroses in the children’s garden, and Mary Oatway was general adviser and historian.

When you stand on the bridge you feel like you are in Monet’s painting in Givenchy, France.

My next dream would be a handicapped entrance by placing tiles in memory of beloved pets (which could be a fundraiser for a nonprofit organization).
