PENOBSCOT – Carol E. (Gray) Wight, 80, died May 4, 2021 at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born June 15, 1940 in Castine, the daughter of Archie S. and Carrie E. (Douglass) Gray.
Carol was a graduate of George Stevens Academy. In 1959 Carol married Frederick “Fred” B. Wight. She was a homemaker, however she enjoyed making Christmas wreaths seasonally for a local company. She liked to crochet and tended her vegetable and flowers gardens for many years.
Carol is survived by a son, Brian F. Wight and wife Nicolle of Belgrade; sister, Doris Bakeman and husband Richard of Brooksville; two grandsons, Mitchell Wight of Belgrade and Cameron Wight of Vassalboro; her special niece, Deborah Gray of Sedgwick as well as many other nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Conrad Wight and wife Linda of Augusta and Kendrick Wight of Penobscot, sisters-in-law Brenda Breeding of Ellsworth, Myrna Boutin of Penobscot and Jean Wight of Ellsworth. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Fred; and one daughter, Terri Wight who died as an infant.
Graveside Services will be held 1pm, Friday May 28, 2021 at Bayview Cemetery, Penobscot.
