Declan Wotton, a sixth-grade student at St. Michael School in Augusta, is presented a first-place award in the Maine Constitution Essay and Poster Contest by Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.

Declan Wotton, a sixth-grade student at St. Michael School in Augusta, took first place in the Maine Constitution Essay and Poster Contest. His essay won in the grades 6-8 essay contest.

He was accompanied to the award presentation by his principal and teacher, Kevin Cullen, and his father, Brian Wotton.

He was presented the award on May 10 by Secretary of State Shenna Bellows at the Secretary’s office in Augusta.

Declan’s essay on the constitutional provisions for removal of county sheriffs is available to read on the Maine Department of the Secretary of State website at maine.gov.
