Harold VerHey Jr

HARTLAND – Harold VerHey Jr (AKA Skipper, Mr. Man) passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was 67 years old. He was born on July 24, 1953 in Boston, Mass. to Harold and Gloria (Rainey) VerHey. He was the only son born smack dab in the middle of seven sisters.

He loved golfing, lottery tickets, Hollywoods slots, Oxford Casino, was an avid Red Sox fan and the best fisherman ever (just ask him). He was funny, smart, kind and extremely opinionated. If he loved you, you knew it…and if he didn’t you knew that too.

He was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife Katharine Scarlett Vigue- VerHey (AKA Babydoll), sister-in-law Priscilla Vigue, brothers-in-law Brent Brooks and Lindy Humphrey.

He is survived by seven sisters, Joan (Warren) Heartquist of Troy, Deborah (Aaron) Neal of Palmyra, Linda (Wayne) Knight, Sandra Dickey, Sherry Brooks, Nancy Moran, and Andrea Fillingim all of St. Albans; numerous nieces and nephews; special sisters-in-law Barbara Day and Shirley Humphrey of Hartland; many friends, Steve, Don B, Terry, Dave and Pat, Dinah, Barb and Rich, Mike and Normie, Richard, Phil and so many more (you know who you are); and last but not least his beloved sidekick Turquoise his fur baby.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Specific time and location to be announced.

Arrangements under the direction and care of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Wateville Road, Skowhegan ME 04976.

In lieu of flowers he has requested donations to:

Somerset Humane Society or any food pantry of

your choosing

As Skip and Kath would both say: Right back atcha
