Matthew Robert Sutton

CANAAN – Matthew Robert Sutton, 45, passed away unexpectedly beside his beloved wife on May 20, 2021. Matthew was born in Worcester, Mass., on Aug. 29, 1975, the son of Robert and Susan (LaPan) Sutton.

Matthew was a family man who enjoyed spending his time on this earth with his wife, Christy and his children, Sarol and Morgan. From being a stay at home dad who ENJOYED doing the daily tasks around the house, to going back to work for Whittemore and Sons the last four years for ‘something to do.’ Matthew truly was a special kind of person who was always honest and forthcoming.

When Matthew wasn’t working, you could find him taking on a variety of different tasks such as detailing his Mustang or anything else that moved, mowing his lawn, riding snowmobiles, taking ATV rides, taking trips to Acadia (in the Mustang of course), having big campfires at the house, being a ref to the Friday night ‘kick the can’ games, lending a helping hand, watching the Patriots, playing with his remote control cars and listening to countless hours of music.

Matthew will be missed by his wife, Christy (Parker) Sutton of 23 years; his children, Sarol and Morgan; his parents, Herb and Susan (LaPan) Sutton-Peterson of Clinton, Mass.; siblings, Michael Sutton of Upton, Mass., Heidi Peterson of Westboro, Mass., and Katie Fralick of Michigan and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Sutton.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, from 4-7 p.m., at Smart and Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine. Anyone who wishes to leave the family messages can do so on our website at – http://www.smartandedwardsfh.com .
