BATH — Kennebec Estuary Land Trust’s “Trek for the Trails” virtual run and walk event will be held from Saturday, May 29, through Sunday, June 6; registration is open until June 6.
How people participate is up to them. They can pick their distance (mile, 5K, or 10K), plan their route, and trek with a fellow trail enthusiast. They can invite support from family and friends through a personalized fundraising page, buy registrations for someone else, or donate to the cause. All details can be found online at kennebecestuary.org/trek-for-trails.
The first 50 registrants will receive an event-branded buff, and the top finishers in each event will receive special prizes.
Sponsors include Now You’re Cooking, Tracy Cassidy CPA SC, Brackett’s Market, and Bath Savings Trust.
All proceeds will go towards caring for KELT’s 25-plus miles of trails.
The Kennebec Estuary Land Trust is a membership-supported organization dedicated to protecting the land, water and wildlife of the Kennebec Estuary. It maintains 12 preserves for public enjoyment and has protected 4,100 acres of land since founding in 1989.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
