Donald Edward Wyman

CORNVILLE – It is with heavy hearts that the family announces that Donald Wyman, 83, of Cornville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his home. He was born to Walter P. Wyman and Elvira C. (Kenney) Wyman on Nov. 25, 1937 in Hampden Maine.

He attended Skowhegan Area High School where he met (with the help of his cousin Janice) the love of his life Mary M. Bedard. They were married on May 5, 1956 and had a long and happy life together until her passing in 2005. Together they had four beautiful daughters Debby, Rhonda, Laurie, and Donna.

Donald worked in his early years beside his grandfather George Wyman logging in and around Athens, Brighton, and West Athens. He also spent many years as a meat cutter and then maintenance person for housing. After retirement, Donald became a self-employed handy-man and took up hunting, gardening, woodworking, and general storytelling. He enjoyed nature, especially at camp in Brighton. Donald spent many happy years with his fiancé Polly Tasker until her passing in 2019. Donald moved back to Cornville to be closer to his daughters and the area he loved since childhood. He would often walk down to his brook and just sit and relax with his dog Buffy. Donald was a lively character, always telling stories and teasing his family.
