AUBURN — Police arrested a juvenile and are seeking a Lewiston man connected to the Thursday night shooting of a local man in the Walmart parking lot.

In a media statement, Chief Jason Moen said police responded about 9:20 p.m. to the area of Walmart Superstore on Mount Auburn Avenue where they found a 19-year-old man who had been shot after a physical altercation with someone he knew.

He was taken by Auburn Fire and Rescue to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, Moen said.

Investigators identified two suspects in the crime. They arrested a 16-year-old boy from Lewiston who was charged with elevated aggravated assault and reckless conduct with a firearm, both felonies. He also was charged with misdemeanor assault.

Police are searching for Sincere George, 19, of Lewiston, who was last seen in his black 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, fleeing from the scene, Moen said.

George is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who believes they may have seen George is urged to call 911. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call Sgt. Jason Moore at 207-333-6651, ext. 2057 or email him at jmoore@auburnmaine.gov.
