Daniel R. Poulin Sr.

STERLING, Alaska – Longtime Sterling, Alaska resident, Daniel R. Poulin Sr., 57, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 at home after battling lung cancer.

Dan was born Oct. 16, 1963 in Augusta. He attended schools in Winthrop. He moved to Sterling, Alaska in August, 1998. He was self-employed at Dan’s Handyman Services.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, kayaking, beekeeping and woodworking.

His family wrote, “Daniel was a loving father, son, brother and grandfather. Cancer was the only thing he couldn’t fix. He was a brilliant craftsman and a magician with wood. Hunting and fishing for him weren’t only his hobbies, but a way of life. He will forever be in our thoughts.”

Dan is survived by his wife, Juanita Woodle of Sterling, Alaska; parents, Claudette and Richard Poulin of Winthrop; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Ashley Poulin Jr., grandsons, Koda and Everett, and granddaughter, Adalyn Poulin, all of Kenai, Alaska; daughters, Adriane Poulin of Soldotna, Alaska and Crystal Whitten of Auburn; granddaughter, Lauren Moran of South China, grandsons, Aden and Hunter Whitten of Auburn; brothers and sisters-in-law, David Poulin of Kenai, Roger and Samantha Poulin of Tacoma, Wash., Larry Poulin of Renton, Wash., and Donald and Elizabeth Poulin of St. Augustine, Fla., sister, Diane Poulin of Tacoma, Wash.; niece and nephews Lucien Poulin of St. Augustine, Fla., Joseph McKinley of Monroe, Wash., Tyler McKinley of Tacoma, Wash.; Viviana Fuller and husband, Morgan, of Grovetown, Ga., and their children, Isabell, Liam and Emerson; nephew, Chaska Poulin of Austin, Texas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private family only mass will be held in his honor at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Kenai, Alaska. A celebration of his life will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 12 at 46140 Amiyung Ct., Soldotna, Alaska.

Peninsula Memorial Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.
