WASHINGTON — A free COVID-19 vaccination clinic offering either the two-shot Pfizer or one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine is scheduled for Tuesday at Gibbs Library in Washington.

The clinic is planned for 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and walk-ins are welcome, according to organizers.

Gibbs Library is at 40 Old Union Road.

The clinic is being organized through a collaboration of the town of Washington, Union Ambulance Service, Knox County Emergency Management Agency, Northeast Mobile Health Services and the Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention’s Division of Public Health Nursing.

Brian Alves, health officer for the town, said officials want residents to take advantage of a “fantastic opportunity” to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

If a second vaccine shot is needed, it will be scheduled at the clinic.

Anyone 12 or older is eligible for the free vaccination.
