Charlene E. (Trask) Sweet

WISCASSET – Charlene E. (Trask) Sweet, 81, passed away May 27, 2021 at her home in Wiscasset surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 19, 1939 in Chelsea, the daughter of Merle R. and Catherine E. (Knox) Trask.

Charlene was a hard worker her whole life. She began picking potatoes at the age of 10, then she worked at Grant’s in Waterville, Fort Halifax in Winslow where she met numerous life-long friends, then Solon Manufacturing in Skowhegan, Dunkin Donuts (making the donuts), New Balance where she retired at the age of 65 to take care of her husband full-time until he passed away.

She loved going camping, meeting many camping friends. Her great love was that of Elvis Presley and those that knew her, all know of her “Elvis Room”. Charlene lived her life to the fullest even after a dementia diagnosis, she went dancing at the VFW every weekend until moving in with her daughter, Sue, and husband Chuck in 2017. Charlene would do anything for anyone and she did for many.

Charlene is survived by sons, Earle Clemmer, George Clemmer Jr., daughters, Sue Eanes, Terry Johnston; grandchildren, Jerimiah Morse, Amanda Whiting, Nicole Morse, Aavon Holt, Amber Allen, Jason Lisherness, Matthew Lisherness, Venassa, Shayanna, Cassidy, Joshua, Natalie, Caitlyn; great-grandchildren, Dominic Holmes, Liberty Alemedia, Jacob Holt, Elijah Alenxedia, Jordyn Alenxedia, Hunter Whiting, Baker Holt, Jame Robert Dillon. She was predeceased by father, Merle Trask, mother, Katherine Knox Trask; sisters, Rebecca Rubbard, Dorothy Hubbard, Maxine Vigue, brother, Merle Trask Jr; husband, Philip W. Sweet, former husband, David Jounston and George Clemment Sr; daughter, Lisa Ann Staples.

To honor her wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be held at her church in Bath at a later date at the convenience of the family.
