Wilfred “Will” B. Hines Jr.

MOSCOW – Wilfred “Will” B. Hines Jr., 63, passed away at home on June 4, 2021.

Will was born in Jackman on Feb. 2, 1958, to Estelle Kennedy Hines and Wilfred B. Hines Sr. He graduated from Upper Kennebec Valley Memorial High School in Bingham in 1977 and NMVTI in Presque Isle in 1979.

Will worked most of his career in law enforcement. He spent 20 years working for the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department as a road sergeant and for the last 19 years he worked for Casella/Pine Tree Waste as a safety officer/dispatcher.

Will enjoyed hunting and fishing but he was at his happiest when spending time with family and friends at camp.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Lucas Hines and his wife Kayla, his daughter, Ashley Warstler and her husband Brandon; his sister, Bernadette McKenney and her husband Douglas, his sister, Bernadine Robinson, and her husband Mark; his grandchildren Jarrett Hines, Brennen Hines, Abby Warstler, and Logan Warstler who were his pride and joy.

Will was predeceased by his parents; and infant son, Zachery B. Hines.

A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery in Moscow on June 19 at 1 p.m. followed by a gathering, 1:30 to 3 p.m., at Will and Carol’s home 10 Bemis St., Moscow. Per Will’s request “no funeral attire”, please dress casually.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Services.

Will has requested that in lieu of flowers, please raise a glass-whether it contains a southerner, northerner, or plain water, just hold your friends and family close, remember the good times and when you look to the sky and see the stars know that he is watching over and protecting everyone he loved. Donations can be made to the Oncology Unit at Redington Fairview General Hospital, Skowhegan.
