Monty Settles

PITTSFIELD – Monty Settles, 65, of Pittsfield, passed away Sunday June 6, 2021 with loved ones by his side at Northern Light Inland Hospital in Waterville.

Monty Lee Settles was born July 23, 1955 in Kingman, Kan. to George and Ruth Settles.

Monty graduated high school May 21, 1974 from Guymon High School in Guymon, Okla.

In 2001 Monty started working for UniTel in Unity, Maine as a Central Office Technician, where he was dedicated to his job and his co-workers for 14 years. He retired in 2015, and during his retirement he cherished the times surrounded by his family, and close friends, he enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the evenings on his porch or by the lake watching a family of Loons, but most of all he enjoyed the time spent at home with his three cats, Molly, Marley, and Mittens also known as his, “babies.” Anyone who knows Monty knows his cats meant the world to him.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents George and Ruth Settles.

He is survived by his significant other of 21 years, Pam Niles of Unity; two sons, Dustin (Leah) Settles of Seattle, Nicholas Settles of Newport, three daughters, Savannah (Nick) Delong of Newport, Corey (Reggie) Duprey of Detroit, Courtney (Jason) Edwards of Winterport. He also had five grandchildren, Hunter, Aspen, Makenzie, Brayden, and Bailey. He is also survived by many other loving, and caring friends and family.

The family would like to specially thank Northern Light Inland Hospital, Acute care floor of Waterville, and Beacon Hospice of Augusta.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
