April Ann Foss
SKOWHEGAN – April Ann Foss, 53, passed away on June 12, 2021 at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta following a valiant battle against NASH disease. She was born in Skowhegan on July 23, 1968, the daughter of Bruce Sr. and Wanda Foss.
April was self employed as a nail technician for many salons in Skowhegan, most recently at Main Attraction Hair & Body Works. April was a Reiki Master and was very connected to the spirit world. Prior to becoming a nail tech, April worked for Solon Manufacturing as a supervisor in production and as an administrative specialist. In her early career days April was a nurses aid. She also went to school for bartending but never once bartended, she did that to go against her parents’ wishes.
April loved to travel and was always game to go anywhere. She especially liked her trips to Old Orchard Beach. She traveled with the girls, and she would travel with several kids, it didn’t matter where she went or who she went with – April always made the trips memorable. April loved animals and had some very special dogs over the years with her last two being Chevy and Zoey. Her quick wit and spunky attitude made everyone fall in love with her. When asked about April, the description given over and over was “She was one of a kind”.
April was predeceased by her mother Wanda Foss; her brother Bruce Foss Jr.; and her grandparents.
She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her father Bruce Foss Sr; her niece Amber Foss and great nephew Jake Foss; several aunts, uncles and cousins. April had a small tribe that always had her back, and she will haunt them for fun.
Funeral services will be held at the Skowhegan Federated Church, 13 Island Ave., Skowhegan, ME on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held directly after the funeral at East Cemetery Skowhegan, Oak Pond Road, Skowhegan.
