Raymond Edward Batchelder

BELGRADE – Raymond Edward Batchelder, 71, of Belgrade lost his long battle with cancer on June 9, 2021, after surviving 13-and-a-half years after a kidney transplant, and went to report to his commander and chief in heaven. He was born Oct. 19, 1949 in Brockton, Massachusetts, the son of George W. and Florence (Dean) Batchelder.

He was the youngest boy of four siblings. Raymond joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 and served his country faithfully. He married his one and only love on Jan. 9, 1970.

Raymond is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Linda (Trenovich) Batchelder of Belgrade; daughter, April Lemieux and husband Jason of Cumberland; granddaughter, Savannah Lemieux of Cumberland; grandson, Caden Lemieux of Cumberland; his beloved cats, Ruffus and Flo. He meets his cat, Toby, at the rainbow bridge to continue his journey. He will be missed by his buddy, Nathan Allen; friends, Albert and Kelly Allen, Ethan Allen, Ding Brockway, and Sherry and Nelson Cummings and Fuzzy.

He was predeceased by sisters, Suzanne Batchelder and Darlene Laprade; brother, George, status unknown.

A celebration of life and graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
