Rhonda Lee (Morang) Blais

PITTSTON – After a long and courageous battle with COPD and Emphysema, the morning of Monday, June 21, 2021, Rhonda passed away at her home.

Rhonda was born at The Gardiner Medical Center in Gardiner, Maine, on Nov. 13, 1964, to Russell H. Morang and Mary Dallas (Bridges) Long. Rhonda was lucky enough to gain another father who helped raise her, George Long.

Rhonda was the middle sibling to, Russell Morang Jr. being the oldest and Arthur O. Gray being the youngest of the three.

Rhonda was survived by her two sons, Joseph L. Blais of West Gardiner with his life partner Christine Sounier and his three children, Keegan Kimball (mother: Ashlee Kimball) Nevaeh and Nina Blais; and her youngest son, Patrick L. Eaton of Farmingdale with his wife Michelle Kelley and their son, Gabrial Eaton.

Donald “Dickie” Hamlin, Rhonda’s lifetime partner and our stepdad were together for 33 years residing in Pittston.

Rhonda had many nieces and nephew that she loved and cared for. Rhonda had a huge heart and would do anything for anyone if it was in her power to do so.

Rhonda worked for the State of Maine DHHS and took many courses through the State of Maine to receive her certificates where she worked as a medical analyst.

Some of Rhonda’s favorite activities included camping up at Mt. Katahdin, taking rides on The Golden Road, visits to the ocean, spending time with her friends/family. Even if that just meant sitting around her table and talking. She loved going to the fairs, going to Pittston Mud Runs and she really enjoyed attending the yearly talent show at the Gardiner Waterfront.

As a family, we would like to just say thank you to Maine General Hospice Care Team. You guys made sure to check in on Rhonda even maybe a little bit more just so she felt and knew someone was thinking of her and watching over her!

Per Rhonda’s request there will be no services.

The family will be putting on a celebration of life in her honor, on Saturday July 3, 2021, at 1 p.m., at the West Gardiner Rod and Gun Club, 300 Collins Mills Road, West Gardiner, Maine, 04345

There is also a Facebook page for Rhonda’s family and friends to join, to share pictures and to tell stories that they have of Rhonda. <3 In Loving Memory of Rhonda Blais <3
