Barry Higgins

CLEARWATER, Fla. – My brother, Barry Higgins, passed quietly early in the morning on June 13, 2021 in a hospital in Clearwater, Fla., his heart gave out.

His partner, Judy Umack was quietly holding his hand when he left us. Barry had not been well for a few years. They lived in Indian Rocks Beach, Fla.

He was born Jan. 5, 1947, in Portland, to Alton and Charlotte Harlow Higgins.

He leaves behind his partner, Judy; daughter, Kerry Ann Murphy and husband, Gary of Waterville; their children Matthew David Murphy, Joshua and wife Delaney of Florida, also, Noah, Katherine, Molly, Matthew Barry, and Christopher, all of Waterville.

He leaves also a beloved sister, Anna Higgins Barnes Hall, of Southwest Harbor; a niece, Diane Barnes Muzeroll of Florida and nephew, Daniel Barnes of Waterville.

He was predeceased by his parents; and a grandson, Matthew David Murphy.

He was active in the Suncoast Blues Society of Florida and served as vice president, was a graduate of Hastings on the Hudson High School, in Hastings, New York, and served in the Air Force, discharged in 1966.

He had been a property manager, and a salesman for numerous numerous products and automotive parts.

Barry was well liked, helpful to all, assisted many and was a good cook, sharing many of his recipes.
