Neighbors Driving Neighbors, which provides free transportation to elderly and non-driving neighbors in Belgrade, Fayette, Mount Vernon, Rome and Vienna, is looking for volunteer drivers to transport individuals in need of a ride to their medical appointment, the grocery store or pharmacy, the food pantry, or anywhere they want to go.
Volunteers use their own cars and must attend a driver orientation. The next driver orientation is Tuesday, July 12. For more information about the orientation and to obtain an application, call 207-860-0677 or visit neighborsdrivingneighbors.org.
Neighbors Driving Neighbors plans to hold an online auction through Aug. 1. Kennebec Savings Bank is the 2021 auction sponsor. Visit biddingowl.com/NeighborsDrivingNeighbors to participate. Continue checking the website, since items will be added throughout the course of the auction.
From 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 31, Neighbors Driving Neighbors is to host a benefit breakfast at the Mount Vernon Community Center at 2 North Road, Mount Vernon.
