AUGUSTA — Numerous people were indicted on drug trafficking, assault and other charges recently by a Kennebec County grand jury.

An indictment is not a determination of guilt but indicates there is enough evidence to proceed with formal charges and a trial.

Indictments issued last week included:

• Daniel D. Ackerley, 35, of Winthrop, aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs (cocaine base) unlawful possession of scheduled drugs (cocaine), and criminal forfeiture, of $555, March 17 in Winthrop.
