Patricia Anne (Parquette) St. Pierre

AUGUSTA – Patricia Anne (Parquette) St. Pierre, 85, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 5, 2021 following a brief illness at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.

Pat was born on Oct. 11, 1935 in Augusta. She was predeceased by her parents, Alonzo and Mary (Fisher) Parquette; and her brothers, Franklin and David Parquette.

Pat attended Augusta schools and graduated from Cony High School in 1953. Shortly after graduation, she was employed by the State of Maine in Taxation.

On a beautiful summer day at Popham Beach in the summer of 1955, Pat met the love of her life, George St. Pierre. George, originally from Gramercy, La., was stationed at the Brunswick Naval Air Station. Pat and George were married on July 7, 1956 and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary together in heaven this year.

Being a mother was Pat’s greatest joy. She was the matriarch of an amazing family and, with George, raised them all with faith at the center of their lives. Together they had six children, 13 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

A lifelong devout Catholic, Pat’s devotion to God was everything. Praying the rosary and attending (or watching) Mass were things she did regularly. She was proud to be the organizer of the Eucharistic Adorers at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Pat loved summer vacations with her family at Ocean Park and traveling with George to visit family in Louisiana. She also enjoyed playing cards with her Cony High School friends and taking trips to the casinos in Bangor and Oxford. But above all, watching her grandchildren participate in their activities made her heart smile.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Vachon and her husband Paul, Dolly Ford and her husband Gary, and Becky Lewis and her husband Steve all of Augusta, Mary Lancaster and her husband Dick of Brunswick and her sons, Mark St. Pierre and his wife Kim Finethy of Brunswick, and Scott St. Pierre and his wife Kendra of Slidell, La.

Also surviving Pat are her grandchildren, Amy Vachon, Aaron Vachon and his wife Stacy; Adam Vachon and his wife Jamie; Corey Ford and his wife Lilianne; Brittany Sanford and her husband David; Jordan and Brett Lancaster; MacKenzie Lewis; Sydney, Aubrey and Gabrielle St. Pierre; and Alex and Joey Hyde; and her five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Zoey, Emmeline, Harvey, and Owen.

She is also survived by her siblings, Bobby Parquette and his wife Terri, Mike Parquette and his partner Mary Nickerson, and Dottie Sheltra and her husband Scott; and her in-laws, Gene and Linda St. Pierre, Leola St. Pierre, and Eslie Parquette.

All are welcome to attend visiting hours from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. We respectfully ask that all visitors to the funeral home wear masks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, July 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 41 Western Ave., Augusta.
