Gardiner Area High School has announced its top 10 graduates for the class of 2021.

Kassidy Collins is the valedictorian of the class of 2021. She is the daughter of Jen Dearborn and Jerrime Collins of Pittston. She has been a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, Interact Club president, Latin Club, Student Council co-president, and was the class president her senior year. In addition, she participated on the varsity field hockey team, varsity basketball team and captain her senior year, and varsity softball team and captain her senior year.

Collins plans to attend Saint Joseph’s College in the fall where she will major in biology and plans to play field hockey.

James Rinderknecht Contributed photo

James Rinderknecht is the salutatorian of the class of 2021. He is the son of Lyn Traver and Danice Rinderknecht of West Gardiner. He has been a member of of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, Interact Club and Student Council co-president. He has also been a member of the cross country team, wrestling team and captain his junior year, and lacrosse team.

Rinderknecht plans to attend the Colorado School of Mines in the fall where he will major in quantitative biosciences and engineering.

Madelynn Hebert is the daughter of Chad and Jennifer Hebert of Pittston. She has been a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society during her junior and senior years and has participated in dance at Ampersand in Gardiner.

Hebert plans to attend the University of Southern Maine in the fall.

Emily Brown is the daughter of Matt and Rona Brown of Gardiner. She has been a member of the National Honor Society, band, Drama Club, Book Club and Tigers and Cubs program.

Brown plans to attend York County Community College in the fall where she will major in baking and pastry arts.

Makenzie Wade is daughter of Joshua and Amanda Wade of South Gardiner. She has been a member of the Drama Club and vice president her senior year, Select Choir, middle school drama crew, and the Civil Rights Team.

Wake plans to attend the University of New Hampshire in the fall where she plans to major in secondary education with a concentration in English.

Margaret Barron is the daughter of Nancy and William Barron of South Gardiner. She  has been a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, the Civil Rights Team as an Advisory Panel member, Tigers and Cubs program mentor, and literary magazine editor.

Barron plans to attend Mount Holyoke College in the fall where she will major in history and minor in English.

Kailyn Minoty is the daughter of Robert and Sherri Minoty of West Gardiner. She has been a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, Drama Club, Book Club, French Club, Art Club, Creative Writing Club, chorus, musical, and Select Choir.

Minoty plans to attend Husson University in the fall where she will major in graphic design and animation.

Quinton Martin is the son of Tag and Kristin Martin of Gardiner. He has been a member of the Latin Club, Select Choir, theatre program (GAHS musicals), the varsity lacrosse team, and varsity football team.

Martin plans to attend the University of New Hampshire in the fall and plans to major in biomedical science (pre-med).

Stacia Staples is the daughter of Michelle Ayotte and Michael Staples of Gardiner. She has been a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, Interact Club, Book Club, Civil Rights Team, and the creative writing club.

Staples plans to attend the University of Southern Maine in the fall and plans to major in English.

Kayla Bailey is the daughter of Clement and Suzanne Bailey of Pittston. She has been a member of the school’s chapter of the National Honor Society and co-president her senior year, the Civil Rights Team and Advisory Panel member, Drama Club, and Select Choir.

Bailey plans to attend Plymouth State University in the fall where she will major in political science.
