Arlene L Trahan

GREELEY, Colo. – Arlene L Trahan, 95, of Greeley, Colo. passed away on Dec. 6, 2016 at Meadow View of Greeley assisted living.Arlene was born on Dec. 18, 1920 in Jackman, Maine to George and Georgiana Poulin. She graduated from South Berwick Catholic high school in South Berwick. She married Henry George Trahan on Oct. 7, 1941 in Glendale, Calif. She was active in various organizations and worked as a secretary and ID clerk for Lockheed in Sunnyvale California.Ms. Trahan attended Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Greeley. Her greatest joys were reading, walking the beaches in California, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Family was very important to her. She was a loving and devoted wife to George, her husband of over 75 years. She is well remembered for her kindness and concern for others. She was a generous supporter of many charitable causes. In addition, numerous elderly widows were assisted by her and George providing transportation to doctors and visits to them in assisted living and nursing homes.Her famous crepes for breakfast and pot roast for dinner were favorite meals for her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing scrabble with her granddaughter and cooking for her grandson and his friends. She took great delight in seeing her great-granddaughter learning to walk and play.Survivors include a son and his wife, Richard G. and Marcy Trahan of Port Saint Joe, Fla.; a brother, Patrick Poulin of Westbrook, Maine; two grandchildren, Nicole Trahan and Jonathan Trahan, and his wife Ashley, and a great-granddaughter Brooklyn Marie Trahan and great-grandson Weston George Trahan, all of Greeley, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ralph and Raymond Poulin, and two sisters, Lilian Poulin and Celeste Nichols. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on July 17, 2021 at St. Faustina Catholic Church in Jackman.
