Richard I. Clark Sr.

BOWDOIN – Richard I. Clark Sr., 67, of Bowdoin and formerly of Bath, Maine, passed away Friday morning July 9, 2021, at The Hospice House in Auburn with family at his side. He was born in Bath, Maine Aug. 10 1953, a son of Charles Clark Sr. and Edith Mae Seavey. Richard attended Bath schools and remained a resident of Bowdoin for many years. On June 13, 1998, he married the former, Katherine (Kathy) Cunningham of Gardiner and together they have resided in Bowdoin. Richard worked for B.I.W. for over 40 years until his illness forced him into an early retirement. Richard, Dick, as he was called by family and friends was a man of strong faith and dedication to the things he cared deeply for. Among his many enjoyments was riding his motorcycle, and watching his two favorite sports teams, the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins. He also truly enjoyed family gatherings, the many barbeques and all of the holidays. Dick loved to laugh, and could also be very stubborn at times, especially when being competitive during games and arm wrestling. But he also had a soft spot deep inside, especially towards his favorite cat he named “Little Girl”. Dick was a loving, devoted and very hardworking husband, father and grandfather who is dearly missed. He leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Kathy Clark of Bowdoin, five sons and one daughter, Richard Clark Jr. of Oklahoma, Christopher W. Clark of Bowdoin, Daniel Clark and wife Ashley of Bowdoin, Christopher Robinson of Brunswick, Ryan Robinson of Hallowell and Jada K. Leung of Farmingdale; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law Mary P. King and her companion John Clark of Farmingdale among the many other family members. Dick was predeceased by a grandson, Gabriel Clark, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
