AUGUSTA – Jean Constance Densmore 73, of Augusta, Maine, died Monday July 19, 2021, at the Alfond Center for Health, in Augusta, after a long battle with declining health.She was born in Augusta, Maine, on June 8, 1948, the daughter of Wilfred Joseph and Lucian Mary (Rioux) Poirier.Jean will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin and friend, who truly had the gift of hospitality. She loved planning get-togethers, both large and small, and aspired to make everyone feel welcome, especially the stranger. As a wife and mother, Jean spent many years of her life graciously putting aside her own interests to look after the needs of her family and others. Her countless demonstrations of unselfish love will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Roger PoirierJean is survived by her immediate family, Bruce R. Densmore, of South Gardiner, three daughters, Tammy Densmore, of Augusta, Lesa Densmore, of New York, and Toby Densmore, of West Gardiner. two sisters, Joan Bickford, of Waterville, and Joyce Hatch, of West Gardiner: two Brothers, William Poirier, of Kansas, and Ronald Poirier, of Little Sebago; grandson, Wyatt Blair, of Winthrop; granddaughter, Ashli Lamattina and great grandson, Nico Lamattina, of Massachusetts.A celebration of Jean s life will be held later this summer.Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
