AUGUSTA – On the 19th day of July 2021, Gerald Gabriel Perley Jr. or Jerry Jr. as our family called him and, Perley with his friends in Maine, passed away from end stage liver disease in Augusta.

Jerry Jr. joined the military after high school. An army infantry man with Parachute bag and Ranger tab, he bravely gave everything to serve and fight proudly as so many in our family did. Among the citations a Kuwait Liberation medal, National Defense Service Medal with 2 Bronze stars and numerous more.

Jerry’s sacrifice will never go unnoticed or unappreciated by his parents Mae and Jerry Sr, his sister Marie, his children Mason, Henry, Asha and Brook, his grandchildren and extended family.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St. Augusta, Maine. The sacred fire will be lit again from 2 to 4 at Jerry Sr’s house in Tobique First Nation. Graveside Services will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, on Friday August 13, 2021 at 10 a.m.
