The Cox Memorial United Methodist Church in Hallowell recently held a yard and bake sale to raise funds for the backpack program they sponsor for the Hall-Dale Elementary School.

More than $1,300 was raised by those who donated money for the items, which were displayed in the fellowship hall of the church.

The sale always is held during Hallowell Days. Even though that event was cancelled, the church continued its tradition.
