Tom Ouellette

SMITHFIELD – Tom Ouellette, born March 24, 1958, succumbed to liver disease on July 29, 2021, at age 63 after a long 13-and-a-half year valiant battle. He passed peacefully with his life partner of 14 years, Dawnette White, holding his hand.
Tom was a man who lived his life fully and impacted a lot of people with his sharp-witted sense of humor and his kind loving spirit. Tom was an avid reader who was passionate about life and enjoyed having discussions about books and philosophy with his partner, Dawnette.
One of his biggest joys in life was walking through the woods with his beloved dog, Abby. He had a passion for music and his interests covered everything from Metallica to the Medieval Babes. He was a thoughtful and generous man who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
He will be sorely missed by his nephew, Michael Jones; his great nephew, Dean Jones; his brother-in-law, Gary Jones; his best friend, Roger Leary who was his heart brother; and Roger’s children, Danielle Leary and Amanda Hildenbrandt who considered Tom an uncle.
Tom was predeceased by his sister, Debbie Jones, and is survived by his brother, Steve Ouellette and Steve’s children.
Tom frequently expressed gratitude to his family and friends who supported him in his battle. Especially big thanks to all the staff at Oak Grove Nursing Home who provided care and comfort to him in his last days and hours. He was taken from us too soon. He had a lot of life still to live.
An online guestbook may be signed, and memories shared at http://www.familyfirstfuneralhomes.com.
Arrangements are by Lawry Brothers Funeral & Cremation Care, 107 Main St., Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Waterville Humane Society in his name. Tom was a big supporter of the Waterville Humane Society where he and Dawnette were chosen by their beloved dog, Abby.
