Janet (Goding) Roy Gaston

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. – Janet passed away July 27, 2021. She was born in Presque Isle to Milton and Zelma Goding on April 20, 1935, moving to the Pittsfield area at a young age.

She worked at Northeast Shoe in Pittsfield for many years and helped her husband, Norman, establish their Service Master business in Augusta and Waterville in the early ’70s. They raised their four children in Pittsfield.

After the passing of Norman in 1975, she moved to Boynton Beach, Fla. and later met and married Howard Gaston. He predeceased her in 2016. Janet was also predeceased by her son, Ronald; sister, Virginia, brother, Ray; great-granddaughter, Chelsey; and step-granddaughter, Tammy.

She is survived by her sister, Betty (Loren) Black; daughter, Vickie Ouellette, sons Norman “Buster” Roy and Donald Roy; sister-in-law, Bettie Goding, sister-in-law, Laura (Dennis) Witham; and stepdaughter, Wendy Gaston; grandchildren Daniel (Kelly) Ouellette, Christopher(Cherie) Roy, Nathan Roy, Caitlyn Roy, and Christian Roy; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Per Janet’s wishes there will be no service. A celebration of life and interment will be late summer in Pittsfield.
