NEWPORT – Leona Elizabeth Lovely (Cross), 84, passed away peacefully July 29, 2021. She was born April 18, 1937, the daughter of Cynthia and Ernest Cross Sr. She married her husband Ransford Emery Lovely in June 1987. She was a graduate, class of 1955 from MCI in Pittsfield, Maine.Leona made a career starting in 1987 at SAS shoe factory in Pittsfield which she cherished and worked at for many years. She loved road trips, crafts, church, her family, friends and country music. She will forever be remembered for her outgoing personality, kind heart and loving smile.Leona is now watching over her daughters: Dorothy Dube and Virginia Joslyn. Sons: Robert Dow and Steven Kilton. Grandchildren: Amanda, Stevey, Tiffany, Tanya, Jessica, Nick, Jason, Stacey, Jesse, Adam and Alex. Her sister: Deborah Cross and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and cat Bandit. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Christopher and her three brothers, John, David and Ernest Cross Jr.Family and friends are welcomed to attend a graveside service on Aug. 12, 2021 at 10 a.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland, Maine.
