NORRIDGEWOCK — A Madison woman was injured Wednesday morning when the vehicle she was driving hit another automobile in Norridgewock, according to police.

Jenna Watters, 31, was driving a 2011 Mitsubishi sport utility vehicle east on Route 2/Skowhegan Road when the crash occurred, according to Chief Deputy Michael Mitchell of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.

Mitchell said two children were in Watters’ vehicle and not injured.

The other driver, Merwin Collins, 62, of Skowhegan was traveling west in a 2017 Toyota Corolla when he attempted to make a left turn into J.T.’s Finest-Kind Saw Inc.

Collins was driving “into the path of Watters as she was heading east bound,” Mitchell said. “Watters was unable to avoid Collins and struck (Collins’) vehicle in the passenger side as Collins was making the left turn.”

Watters was taken to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, where he was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.

All passengers in both vehicles were wearing seatbelts and no charges are pending, according to police.
