AUGUSTA — One end of Bond Brook Road will be closed for about a week, so workers can repair a failing culvert near Mount Vernon Avenue.

The city plans to close Bond Brook Road from Mount Vernon Avenue to Tall Pines Way, starting at around 7 a.m. Monday. The road is expected to be opened back up at the end of the day on Aug. 13.

While the contractor is expected to work diligently to finish the repair within the five days planned, city officials said the closure may need to be extended for unforeseen circumstances that may arise during the culvert repair process.

Traffic from the Mount Vernon Avenue end, seeking to get onto Bond Brook Road, will be detoured to continue on Civic Center Drive to take a left onto Leighton Road to Bond Brook Road. Traffic from the Leighton Road end will be detoured to continue on Leighton Road to take a right onto Civic Center Drive, which turns into Mount Vernon Avenue.
