Thank you to the newspaper for keeping us up to date about the COVID pandemic in Maine. The article in the Local section of the Sunday newspaper was a powerful reminder of the importance of continuing to protect ourselves and each other from this dangerous virus (“Maine’s long-haul COVID patients confront ‘constant battle’”).

It does come close to home to many of us; a next door neighbor of ours died from COVID. The personal stories of the “long-hauler,” people who were fortunate enough to survive the infection, were very moving.

Wearing a mask in indoor public places is an easy way to protect ourselves, our loved ones and everyone in our community from the nasty, dangerous new delta variant.

If you have not already, please get the immunization, which has proved safe for millions of Americans, and wear a mask indoors in public places. Be safe and be well.
