ATHENS – Adam Michael “Man-cub” Archer, 15, passed away unexpectedly August 20, 2021. He was born Jan. 4, 2006 in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Adam attended Cornville Regional Charter School, Athens Community School, and had just finished his freshman year at Skowhegan Area High School. Adam loved sports- he was on the cross-country team and played a little basketball, but his passion was playing soccer. When he wasn’t playing sports, he could be found skateboarding barefoot, playing video games or hiking with his dog, Chomper. Adam loved the outdoors and could be often found climbing trees in search of a better view.
Adam could light up a room with laughter. He was always kind to others and fun to be around. Adam had a strength and intuition that made him a great friend to all who knew him. He was a hard worker and was always willing to help others.
In addition to his parents, Jennifer and Alexander Blodgett, Adam is survived by his sister, Lydia May; grandmother, Wanda Kranz, grandfather, David DiBiase; his uncle, Jimmy, who he loved to be with and who he enjoyed spending time with; as well as many, many extended family and dear friends who were like family to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Athens Exhibition Hall.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Smart and Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan. Anyone who wishes to leave the family messages can do so on our website at – http://www.smartandedwardsfh.com.
For those who wish to remember Adam in a special way, please consider buying a soccer ball or soccer equipment to donate to a local children’s youth soccer club in memory of Adam’s love of soccer.
