SKOWHEGAN — A Somerset County grand jury indicted eight people Thursday on a variety of charges, including assault, drug crimes and theft.

The grand jury handed up indictments totaling 24 counts.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but an indication there is enough evidence to move forward with a trial.

Those who were indicted include:

• Micris Godfrey, 36, of Skowhegan, three counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and one count of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, May 26, 2021, and June 10, 2021, in Skowhegan.

• Ryan C. Mills, 34, of Madison, domestic violence assault, May 25, 2021, in Madison.
