SKOWHEGAN — A Somerset County grand jury indicted eight people Thursday on a variety of charges, including assault, drug crimes and theft.
The grand jury handed up indictments totaling 24 counts.
An indictment is not a finding of guilt, but an indication there is enough evidence to move forward with a trial.
Those who were indicted include:
• Micris Godfrey, 36, of Skowhegan, three counts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs and one count of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, May 26, 2021, and June 10, 2021, in Skowhegan.
• Ryan C. Mills, 34, of Madison, domestic violence assault, May 25, 2021, in Madison.
• Shauwn Clyde Towers, 33, of Skowhegan, theft by unauthorized taking, Oct. 5, 2020, in Lexington; operating after revocation, Oct. 15, 2020, in Madison.
• Samantha Rose White, 25, of Skowhegan, eluding an officer, criminal speed and driving to endanger, Oct. 6, 2020, in Fairfield.
• Robert E. Burt, 47, of Skowhegan, theft by unauthorized taking, refusing to submit to arrest, May 20, 2021, in Skowhegan; operating after revocation, May 20, 2021, in Canaan; and operating after revocation, April 22, 2021, in Skowhegan.
• James H. Simonson, 61, of Clinton, two counts aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, one count of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and improper plates, Oct. 5, 2020, in Fairfield.
• Jodi K. Decker, 50, of Skowhegan, two counts unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs, Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, 2020, in Skowhegan.
