Doris M. Marden

SMITHFIELD – Doris M. (Deschaine) Marden of Smithfield passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2021 at the age of 77.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1943 in Waterville to Donald and Rita (Paradise) Deschaine. On August 29, 1964, she married James Marden. Together they raised four children. She was a dedicated loving wife, mother and memere to her family. We will miss her sense of humor, she loved making others laugh. You never knew what she might do next. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook (known for her spaghetti ). She loved playing cards, hosting big family get-togethers, and spending time with those she loved, especially her grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her children James Marden II and his wife Kristi Marden of Smithfield, Jodi Ellis and her husband Michael Ellis of Oakland, and Jason Marden and partner Noel Rivard of Monroe; grandchildren Jessica Ellis and partner Michael Woodman, Michael Ellis and partner Kayla Ladabour Tracy, Matthew Ellis, Andrew Ellis and partner Katelin Carroll, Jillian Hume and husband Del Hume, James Marden III and partner Mikayla French, Alan Marden, Hunter Marden, Rachel Frederick and husband Hank, Vera Marden, Luke Marden, and Emma Marden; great-grandchildren Colin Woodman, Conner Constable, Mia Marden, and Sophia Marden; sibling Ann Caron; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Marden; her son, Jeffrey Marden; her brother, Russel Deschaine; as well as her parents Donald and Rita Deschaine

A graveside service is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Augusta Veterans Memorial Cemetery. All are welcome to attend. Condolences can be sent to the family at 90 Tukey Rd., Oakland.
