Dustin James Fortier

AUGUSTA – Dustin passed away Sept. 5, 2021, after losing his long battle with addiction. Dustin was so loved and touched so many people so deeply, literally all across the country from Maine to Alaska.

He is predeceased by his grandmothers Elizabeth “Betty” Crocker and Joan Fortier; and also his biological mother, Billie Jo Fortier; and other loved family members.

Dustin is survived by his parents Richard and Laurie Choate of Readfield, biological father, James Fortier and partner Ginger Tobin of Alaska; grandfather John Fortier of Mt. Vernon; brother, Christopher Struck and sister, Melodie; and cherished nephews Samuel and Thomas, Scott Struck and cherished niece and nephew, Chloe and Connor, Matthew Choate and sister-in-law, Khasandra, all of Readfield; and sister, Jessica Harlan and daughter Hailey of Everrett, Wash. Dustin is also survived by his aunt and uncles, Kathie Choate of Augusta, John and Beth Struck of Fayette, Vicky and Lenny Simonds of Winthrop, David Struck of Mt. Vernon, Richard Struck of Winthrop, Lisa and James Seavey of Winthrop. Dustin is survived by many cousins and extended family. He is survived by new and old friends that will truly miss him.

There will be a celebration of Dustin’s life on Saturday Sept. 11 from 12 to 3 p.m. at 77 South Rd. in Readfield.

Arrangements are under the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Care, Augusta.
