UNION — A benefit gong session event to raise funds to support the purchase of a whale drum is scheduled to be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, on the front lawn at Vose Library at 392 Common Road.

The drum will be used for the library’s newly designed StoryWalk.

Jim Doble of Union will perform a gong bath sound immersion using gongs from around the world.

All proceeds from this cash-donation fundraiser will support the purchase of the whale drum, made by Doble. The library’s goal is to raise $1,000.

Those who attend are encouraged to bring a beach chair and/or blanket.
