Florence Coro Lovejoy

NEW PORTLAND – Florence Coro Lovejoy, 94, of New Portland, died peacefully in her home on Sept. 7, 2021.

Florence was born in Skowhegan on June 2, 1927 to Frank and Amy Coro. She married Kenneth Lovejoy, Oct. 12, 1946.

She is survived by daughters Modene Piccolino (Anthony), Barbara Pease (Edward Beeman), Lynette Brown (Darell Salisbury); her grandchildren Charles “Chuck” Taylor (Tracy), Deborah Valdes (Jose), Tracy Johnson (Mark), Kimberly Harrington (Abraham); great-grandchildren Erika Taylor, Morgan Taylor, Jordan Daigle; great-great-grandson, Jaxson Savage; and brother, Norman Coro.

Florence was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Lovejoy.

Florence loved life and the many joys it held. She loved to knit and crochet especially when making gifts for family or new babies. She loved the simple things like fresh garden vegetables and berries. She loved adventure such as flying off to enjoy a few months in Florida and meeting friends there. Florence was happy if she was riding in a car to any destination and enjoyed random drives with her caretaker Ronda McLaughlin.

She was especially proud of assisting in opening a thrift shop in neighboring North Anson. But most of all Florence loved family. Her eyes lit up when her children and grandchildren visited but never more brightly then when she held her Jaxson in her arms.

The family want to thank Ronda McLaughlin, her companion and caretaker for giving Florence immeasurable experiences in the last two years.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Oct. 9 at 12 p.m. in East New Portland Cemetery.
