James “Jimmy” R. Dixon

MADISON – James “Jimmy” R. Dixon, 56, of Madison, passed away Sept. 14, 2021, at his mother’s residence in Norridgewock surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer.Jimmy grew up in the town of Madison working at his family’s shop “Este’s Market”. He graduated from Madison High School in 1985. When he moved out to Minnesota with his family, he was a manager at Perkins Restaurant. After coming back to his home state of Maine, he worked at College Carry Out in Augusta for a while. Then he came back to Madison to work with his brother at Fonzo’s Pizza until he became ill. He enjoyed horseracing, casinos, boating and playing bingo.Jimmy is survived by his mother, Beverly J. Dixon of Norridgewock; brother, Aaron Dixon and wife Shannon of Florida, Alphonso A. Dixon Jr and significant other, Zelma Gould of Norridgewock; sister, Karen Dixon and significant other Mark Mercier of Norridgewock; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; his very special cat, “Baby”. He was predeceased by his father, Alphonso “Buster” Dixon Sr.A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Best Western, 375 Main Street, Waterville, with his father, Alphonso’s celebration.
