The Benton Grange has planned an open house with a potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25.

All are welcome to bring a dish to the Grange, located at 29 River Road in Benton.

Entertainment and membership certification presentations will follow at 7 p.m. Past Stat Master of the Maine State Grange will provide some knowledge about the organization.

The Grange was established in 1906. Members met at the Benton Station school until the present building was build in 1915; membership exceeded 200 at that time.

The Grange currently has 25 members with 50 years or more of continued membership and have several multi-generational members.

The organization sponsored local cub scouts and 4-H clubs. Special occasions like weddings, receptions, birthdays, anniversaries and celebrations of life were held at the hall. Saturday night dances and town meetings have been held there for many years.
