NORRIDGEWOCK – With heavy hearts, we are sad to say Agnes M. Stanhope passed away unexpectedly at her home in Norridgewock on Sept. 18, 2021. She was born Dec. 27, 1951 in Augusta, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Schuleug) Dostie.

Agnes was very hard working. She helped run the family chicken farm and hardware store. She worked at Digital in Augusta for many years as well. She had her very close friend, Sonya McBride that she visited every morning and also worked for her at Riverside Market. Agnes was very close to Buddy and Beverly Stanhope. She loved her dog, Cyndie, that was like her second child and loved fishing on the Kennebec River with her husband, Larry.

Agnes is survived by her son, Ricky Stanhope, who she loved deeply and Rick’s fiancé, Kelly Wheaton; Jimmy and Janet Stanhope; special nephew, Michael, who she cared for very much; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Larry Stanhope; her parents, Joseph and Martha Dostie, who she took care of until they passed.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Sunsetview Cemetery in Norridgewock.
