Donna Jean Grant

AUGUSTA – Donna Jean Grant, 60, of Augusta, died unexpectedly in her sleep at home, on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021. She was born in Boston, Mass. on May 15, 1961, the daughter of Albert “Cliff” Harris and Jean (Tripp) Harris.

Donna graduated from Cony High School in 1979 and soon met her lifelong best friend and husband Tommy. She held positions in doctors offices, vet clinics, and at MBNA during the time they were raising their boys. They spent time living in Texas and Florida and enjoyed island adventures before returning to Maine.

Donna was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid animal lover. Donna radiated a positive energy amidst multiple medical challenges through the years. She dealt with any of life’s challenges with strength, grace and a wonderful sense of humor and ability to laugh at any situation. Donna was selfless in her commitment to her family and will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt and friend.

She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Frank Grant Jr.; her father Albert Clifton Harris; and her brother Scott Loren Harris. She leaves behind two sons, Nick Grant and his daughter Mackenzie; and Nathan Grant along with his wife Alyssa, and their children Xavier and Colton. She is survived by her mother Jean Harris formerly of Augusta and currently in Grapevine, Texas; brother Steve Harris of Industry, sister Diane Bibb (and Garry) of Grapevine, Texas, brother Shawn Harris (and Maria) of Tega Cay, SC, sister Sue John of Ponte Vedra, Fla., brother Robin Harris (and Sheri) of Ames, Iowa, brother Randall Harris (and Lisa) of Papillion, Neb., and brother Ronald Harris of Great Falls, Mont.

A graveside service will be held at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 12:00. A celebration of life will be held directly after at the Gardiner Elks Lodge. All are welcome.
